Denim Solutions/Ambien Sex brings together a number of artists whose work is unified by its reference to and use of a diverse, figural spectrum of characters whose materials and influences are often worldly, banal and/or popular. These forms articulate themselves with highly personal inflection and humor, exhibiting cartoonish, exaggerated and absurdist relationships to things, creating an amalgamated and grand psycho-scape. Amidst this scene, a gesture is conjured towards an allegorical structure that is invested and emoting, altogether positing an implicated subjectivity within a haze of the proposed, the real and the impossible. Seeking solutions in a rosy fog, limbs are loosed, the system contains a fetish. The tragicomic roams and speaks into this world of deformed and uncannily familiar relations and landscapes.
